Project 52 Week 3 - Shades of grey

MR staying warm during the winter months...

Yahtzee!!

Have a grey day... oophs! I mean great day!!

Project 52 Week 14 - Fusion

Why can't they just get along???  Sometimes it feels like my girls are in the business to be in each others business, resulting in silly spats.  As frustrating as this cycle can be at times, I realize the girls "business" isn't unique to this house...

The other night when JC got home and walked into a spat.  He quickly asked the girls to turn to each other and hug, kiss, and say I love you.  Their reaction was amazing, while MG was happy to go along with the scenario, MR for what ever reason found it a little awkward to do such a thing.  Don't get me wrong this girl loves her sisters, and is the sweetest thing who would do anything for anyone, but for some reason she found this a tough request to fulfill!!  After much discussion and a whole lot of coaching they were both able to accomplish what seemed at the time such a crazy request, and most importantly they showed a little more appreciation towards one another.

Try it out on your own kids, what reaction do you get???

The below photograph was edited with MCP's mini fusion action...

Shoes

Every day AS goes into my closet and picks out a pair of my high heels to strut her stuff around the house, the higher the better...  One Friday evening off she went to grab my favorite pair of red shoes, I knew that I needed to capture that moment.

The following photo was taken during a dress-up session in the playroom...

I think this photo is a keeper and will be perfect for AS's wedding day... AS and her daddy dancing together :)

Project 52 Week 15 - How others see you...

Sweet like sugar...

I didn't realize how difficult this would be... being on the other-side of the camera was a lot harder than I ever thought.

After getting feedback from family and friends on how they see me the word sweet was one of many.

Project 52 Week 5 - Muse

1,  To think or meditate in silence, as on some subject
2,  To gaze meditatively or wonderingly

Here we see MR thinking about doing her homework, repeat... thinking!!

This was taken back when it was pretty cold outside, with snow on the ground.  Here is Charlie thinking about going outside...

Project 52 Week 4 - Soothing Repetion

For some reason we have a stash of pacifiers in our house, which is kind of strange because the last child of ours to use a pacifier was MR, and that would of been many years ago.  She was the only one of our kids to use a pacifier.  Of a night time she would suck on her pacifier and then at the same time gently slap one of my cheeks, this would sooth her off to sleep.

MG on the other hand would drink her milk and play with her belly button, in fact we could never put her in pj's where she couldn't get to her belly button.  Not being able to get to it would just simply put her over the edge.  Going on road trips we had to make sure the clothes she wore abled her to reach that special spot.

AS to this day still twirls my hair to sooth herself to sleep.

Project 52 Week 6 - Words

Gotta love Targets dollar section.  I found the below love sign at my local Target, wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it, but I figured it was only a dollar, so what the heck, go ahead and splurge a little.  A week later my projects theme was words, fancy that...  I just happen to have the perfect thing.

This was all going on right around Valentines day so I couldn't resist taking a few extra shots of AS, and lucky me she was willing to do so.

Project 52 Week 13 - Just For Fun!!

I have seen these commercials on TV for Crayola colored bubbles, it's a cute commercial where kids chase different colored bubbles around the yard... How fun I thought!  But let me tell you they are not so fun because you spend the whole time worrying about where the colored dye bubbles are going to land.  Apparently washable, but I wasn't willing to take the chance so this was definitely an outside activity.  For those of you contemplating buying them for your kids this summer, do so at your own risk!!

Here are a couple of shots of that messy stuff...

Breckenridge, Colorado

So back in February we pulled the girls out of school for a week and took a family trip to Breckenridge, Colorado.  We have some good friends from California that we met there and spent the week together.

Our two older girls have been skiing a couple of times but this was AS's first time, we weren't sure what we would be in for.   When we moved to Nebraska, she proved that she was not a big fan of the cold weather and snow.

However when in Breckenridge, she showed a new love for the cold and snow and had a great time...  After a day of ski school and some time spent skiing with her Dad, forget the bunny slopes she was ready to go up the mountain.

This is MF... I think this is her second time skiing and did she get the ski bug!  All she wanted to do is keep going and going, no bunny slopes for her either.  She is right between the girls in age so a fun time was had by everyone!!

TF first time on the slope was a success, though I think he is more interested in hanging out with the girls!

MG loves to ski and she has no desire to go slow just take her to the top and let her go...  We still haven't quite figured whether she is in control or not???  What we do know is that she loves to have her picture taken :)

MR also loves to ski, but she also loves the social goings on back at the hotel.  She will have everyday planned out for you from the moment you wake up.  From skiing, sledding, shopping to movie and popcorn night, or a dip in the hot tub, no relaxing with her around...

JC did an awesome, his legs definitely got a work out taking care of AS.  I took this shot while he was watching her during ski school.

Another great family ski trip!!
